Evoking modern classic style, the logo design for Everton, a new neighborhood by John Wieland Homes and Neighborhoods, was honored at the recent 2016 OBIE Awards presented by the Greater Atlanta Homebuilders Association. The unique design garnered silver honors in the Best Logo – Community category.
Everton’s logo design cleverly blends a variety of inspirations to evoke the neighborhood’s distinct identity and personality. A long-awaited and much anticipated addition to Peachtree City, Everton is the final landmark development which will anchor Wilksmoor Village – the last of five distinct village areas outlined in the city’s original master plan decades ago, each bearing a Scottish-inspired name. Five interlocking circles in the Everton logo represent the fulfillment of the original five village vision. The intricately linked design also calls to mind a Celtic infinity knot – both a play on the city’s Scottish theming and an homage to the idea of timelessness, a core theme through Everton’s name, architecture and overall neighborhood design. A friendly font choice in all lower case letters balances the formality of the elegant icon shape to ground the overall design with a friendly, hometown feel that is upscale yet welcoming.
